Embroidery Patch Up-cycling Beginners Embroidery workshop – 31st March 2025 – The Plough and Harrow

£40.00£48.00

Description

Looking for a fun, relaxing and creative evening? Join me for an Embroidery Patches – Game changing Up-cycling Embroidery Workshop at The Plough and Harrow, Long Ditton! Perfect for beginners, this friendly and hands-on session will introduce you to beautiful embroidery techniques while you unwind with a drink of your choice.

Led by Katherine Savage of Treasure Kave Embroidery, you’ll learn essential stitches like back stitch, lazy daisies, adding beads and french knots—ideal for revamping a garment of your choice!

In this workshop, you’ll need to bring an item of clothing to stitch onto. You will have a choice of patches to add to your garment (see photos for some options). There will be patches suitable for wovens, jersey and stretch fabrics in multiple designs. In this workshop l will show you how to stitch your patches and then how to attach them to your garments.

These patches are the perfect way to add a pop of colour to clothes. They can be personalised in a colour palette to suit your style and also are great for fixing a once loved garment and making it into a new favourite. Once you’ve learnt how, you could tackle your whole wardrobe and really have a lot of fun along the way + save many items from landfill!

It’s the perfect activity to enjoy with a friend—relax, chat, and get creative in a warm and welcoming setting.

Your ticket includes:
✔️ A full embroidery kit with everything you need to complete your hoop
✔️ Step-by-step instructions to finish at your leisure
✔️ A drink from the bar to sip as you stitch

FAQ
-I will be in touch in advance to check what letter you would like to embroidery on your garment
-Garment choice – I would recommend a shirt, cotton sweatshirt or a jersey t-shirt fabric to stitch onto as we will be using cotton threads. The threads l use are all DMC which are the most colourfast in my opinion and perfect for stitching. If you prefer to stitch onto a piece of fabric to learn the stitches first, l will bring plenty of supplies with me.
-During the workshop l’ll will be introducing a range of beginner hand embroidery stitches, starting with some easier ones and these will build up as your confidence grows
-You’ll receive the kit with all materials on the day. There is also an option to buy your own pair of Janome 9cm embroidery scissors which you will take away as part of your kit. Scissors to borrow for the evening will also be provided.
-At The Plough and Harrow, we have a lovely area in the conservatory which is both cosy and bright. As you come into the venue, walk past the bar and head towards the garden.
-Please let me know in advance of any extra help you may need or if there are other specific stitches you would like to learn. I’m always very happy to help.
-Why not come in advance for dinner at the pub. They’ve got a great menu you can find here and you can make a reservation in advance or just decide on the day https://ploughandharrowlongditton.com/
-Please get in touch for any question you may have at [email protected]
