Hi! I’m Katherine Savage, but my friends call me Kat. I’m a busy mum of two young girls, and I’m lucky enough to have turned my passion for embroidery into a career I love.
I first learned embroidery the traditional way, from my grandmother on the Isle of Wight. In today’s fast-paced world, passing down skills like these has become less common, but it’s something I’ll always treasure. From the moment I picked up my first hoop, I was hooked, and embroidery has been a part of my creative journey ever since.
With a First-Class Honours degree in Product Design & Development from the London College of Fashion, I went on to build a career in fashion buying. But deep down, I always dreamed of having my own creative business.
In 2020, after the birth of my daughters, I took the leap and launched Treasure Kave, a space where I could share my love for colour, stitching and thoughtful design. I believe in creating beautiful, high-quality, fun, and sustainable embroidery kits that will be treasured for years to come, with designs suitable for all abilities.
So far in my 5 years of business, l’ve taken my business on live television, exhibited at the UK’s biggest Stitching trade shows, run hundreds of workshops, done huge stage presentations and met thousands of happy customers. Oh and l write regularly for Stitch Magazine!
I’m so excited to help you discover (or rediscover!) the joy of embroidery whether you’re stitching for yourself or looking for a special, handcrafted gift.
Happy stitching!
Kat
