Getting started with a new hobby can sometimes feel a little overwhelming and expensive. So l’ve put together a starter kit using my favourite supplies. This kit is ideal if you are planning on signing up to my bi-monthly pattern subscription (full details can be found on the home page and also: https://treasurekave.subkit.com/)

This starter kit includes:

• 2 x 6″ wooden embroidery hoops
• 8 x DMC stranded cotton skeins – 8 of my most commonly used colours
• 4 x size 5 John James needles
• 2 x good quality needle threaders
• 1 x Blue Frixion heat erasable pen – l use this most often for transferring patterns
• 1 x water erasable pen
• 4 x white cotton/linen fabric (approx 24 cm x 24cm) – perfect for a 6″ embroidery hoop

I have added Janome 9cm Scissors as an extra as many people already have a pair of scissors. There is also an option to buy this kit with a mini easel to display. This is not essential but for those that don’t want to display their hoop own a wall or have it framed, it’s a nice way to display your finished embroidery.

Unlike many kits manufactured in China, l put these kits together by hand and with lo
