Kids Embroidery workshop – 27th October 2023

These workshops are suitable for complete beginners and those with some experience of hand sewing too.

During the workshop l’ll will be introduce a range of beginner hand embroidery stitches, starting with some easier ones and these will build up as your confidence grows (more for the older groups).

➡️For the age 6-9, we’ll be working on a Trick or Treat hoop using aida fabric and practicing lots of threading up and tying knots as well as back stitch, cross stitch and more if they are extra keen! For this age group l also bring another craft activity too for those that like lots of variety. This will include some halloween themed colouring and wool spiders! As this workshop has sold out everytime, if the demand is high again please get in touch and l will try and organise another session on the Thursday 26th October.

➡️For the age 9-14 we will be working on a Witchy kitty in a Pumpkin covering stitches like: back stitch, satin stitch, chain stitch and fly stitch.

Each child will be given a kit which includes everything you need to complete your embroidered hoop. The kit includes a booklet of instructions on each stitch too, so you can continue stitching at home.

You’ll receive the kit with all materials on the day.

At Surbiton Hill Methodist church, we have a lovely spacious room which also has it’s own bathroom so no need to leave.

I provide snacks and drinks for the children.

Katherine the teacher is fully DBS checked and has been teaching embroidery to children for many years now.
